Under the School of Science, the Office of Academic Advising and Support aims to provide academic, personal and career advising support to students. The Office plays an important role in promoting success in student lives. Student Advising Officers are among the people new students will first encounter and meet regularly during the first year at the University. They will help recognize students’ strengths and help them achieve their best and realize their dreams. Job duties: Applicants should have a bachelor’s degree, preferably in science, education, counselling or social work, with at least 3 years of post-qualification work experience relevant in the area of youth development. A strong sense of responsibility and the ability to work independently and flexibly are essential. The appointee should be self-motivated, organized, confident, and have a strong passion for or experience in dealing with adolescents and understanding their needs. The appointee should also possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills with high proficiency in written and spoken English and Chinese (Cantonese and Putonghua), good knowledge in IT, software applications as well as Chinese word processing. Shortlisted candidates will be invited for a written test. (Duration: 2 years, renewable) Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits including annual leave, medical and dental benefits will be provided. A gratuity will be payable upon successful completion of contract. |
