Hong Kong Organic Resource Centre

The Hong Kong Organic Resource Centre is the first local independent certification body of organic production in Hong Kong. The Centre is providing organic certification service and actively promoting organic movement to public through mass publicity and educational campaigns. We are seeking passionate and energetic candidates who are interested in organic and agricultural development in Hong Kong to fill the following vacancies:

The appointees are expected to assist the Centre Executive/Assistant Centre Executive in organising education activities, conducting gardening or organic farming related talks and workshops to promote organic living, organic agriculture and organic certification.

Applicants should have a university degree in agriculture, biology, environmental science or related disciplines, with at least three years of relevant experience in related field. Knowledge of certification, auditing, food safety and/or organic farming will be an advantage. Applicants with less experience will be considered for the post of Project Assistant.

Applicants should be able to work independently, self-motivated, ready to accept challenges, and willing to meet people. They should have passion and devotion to organic and green living, and the eagerness to promote local organic agriculture. Out-going and energetic personality are expected. Good communication in both spoken and written English and Chinese and good computer skills including MS Office and Chinese word-processing are required.

Initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract of one year. Re-appointment thereafter is subject to mutual agreement and availability of funding.

Rank and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
