Responsibilities:
To assist the Project Director in the implementation of the project “Hakka Life Experience Village at Lai Chi Wo” in NE New Territories as a model of village revival, covering a range of tasks as the project proceeds:
- To give administrative support to the Project Director;
- To maintain communication with villagers and other stakeholders;
- To collect information and material related to the geography, history, culture, traditions and ecology of the village and various forms of indigenous knowledge;
- To produce thematic activity packages for the provision of experiential learning opportunities to visitors to Lai Chi Wo;
- To organize training courses and village-based activities;
- To support the Project Director in the capacity building of the village-based social enterprise;
- To carry out other duties as directed which are needed to achieve the overall “village revival” objective.
Requirements:
- 2 years or more of work experience preferably related to education in a broad sense
- Exposure to projects with a rural context is an advantage
- Demonstrated passion about Hong Kong’s rural culture, landscape, built heritage and natural habitats
- Good inter-personal skills
We offer a 2-year contract with the flexibility of further extension.
