Part-Time Research Assistant (Ref.: 16-PTRA-392-O)
[One-year Contract]
Duties
The appointee will assist the project leader in the research project – “Rituals of reintegration and drug rehabilitation: A case study of a peer education programme in Shanghai”. He/she will be required to assist in:
(a) conducting literature review on sociology of ritual, drug rehabilitation and offender reintegration;
(b) qualitative data analysis; and
(c) performing other tasks related to the research project.
Requirements
Applicants should possess a recognized degree, preferably a higher degree, in Sociology, Criminology, or a related discipline in the Social Sciences. They should also have a high level of English and Chinese proficiency and effective communication and organization skills. Preference will be given to candidates with:
(a) expertise in the field of sociology and criminology, particularly on drug rehabilitation and offender reintegration issues;
(b) experience in carrying out qualitative research;
(c) competence in computer skills (MS Office using Word, Excel and PowerPoint); and
(d) ability to work independently and under pressure to meet multiple deadlines.
Terms of Appointment
Successful candidate will be appointed on a temporary part-time fixed term contract. Benefits will be provided in accordance with the statutory provisions.
