Salary: $140 per hour
Entry Requirements: Candidates should have (a) completed Form Five Level, or equivalent; (b) working experience in a law enforcing agency/government department preferred; (c) possessed native speaking skill in a foreign language/dialect (e.g. English, Putonghua) and (d) holding foreign passport.
Duties: A Licensing Assistant is mainly deployed on (a) posing as a decoy agent to assist in conducting law enforcement duties or regulatory work under the scope of the Miscellaneous Licences Ordinance (Cap.114), Gambling Ordinance (Cap.148), Hotel and Guesthouse Accommodation Ordinance (Cap.349), Clubs (Safety of Premises) Ordinance (Cap.376), Amusement Game Centres Ordinance (Cap.435), Bedspace Apartments Ordinance (Cap.447) and Karaoke Establishments Ordinance (Cap.573); (b) assisting in preparing court documents for prosecution against illegal establishments; (c) attending court hearings to give oral testimonies.
Terms of Appointment: Successful candidates will be offered a 12-month employment on non-civil service contract terms.
Fringe Benefits: Rest days, statutory holidays (or substituted holidays), annual leave, maternity leave, sickness allowance, where appropriate, will be provided in line with the provisions of the Employment Ordinance.

The said form can also be downloaded from the Civil Service Bureau's web site (http://www.csb.gov.hk). The native speaking skill possessed should be stated in the application forms and the completed forms together with copies of foreign passport, academic and professional qualification certificates and official transcripts should reach the following address on or before the closing date for application. Candidates who are selected for interview will normally receive an invitation in about four to six weeks from the closing date for application. Those who are not invited for interview may assume that their applications are unsuccessful.
