Learning & Development Manager

Company Overview

General Purpose

Reporting to the Vice President, Human Resources; the L&D Manager is responsible for all training initiatives in the Hong Kong and China Region. To ensure the smooth and effective functioning of training events and special projects they will manage, design, develop, coordinate and conduct large and small scale training programs.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct analysis of training and organizational needs working collaboratively to implement solutions
  • Market available training opportunities to employees/management
  • Design and deliver or facilitate innovative, creative, cost-effective training programs to maximize employee performance
  • Select appropriate training aids and prepare lesson plans relevant to training subject and materials
  • Create online training feedback surveys
  • Analyze employee feedback and performance data to measure, identify and eliminate performance gaps
  • General training administrative duties for the region including training material preparation, venue booking, equipment preparation, and ordering supplies.
  • Responsible for the L&D intranet pages – timely uploading of documents, verifying information is accurate and up-to-date and solving any technical issues that occur with SharePoint
  • Main contact for external vendors; research available seminars and courses as required; responsible for vendor meetings, enrolment, and coordination of all external training
  • Represent the Hong Kong region for all global training initiatives
  • Be a champion for continuous learning within the organization
  • Work closely with other regions on global training initiatives and leadership programs

 

Requirements

  • University graduate with Bachelor Degree (or above) in Training and Development, HR Management or related field
  • 4 years  or above related experience; preferably with multi-national companies
  • Strong knowledge of PC applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, SharePoint, etc.) is required
  • Prior experience in the financial services industry will be highly regarded
  • Experience presenting to ‘c’ suite executives will be highly regarded
  • Able to work independently and with limited supervision
  • Strong influencing and negotiation skills
  • Attention to details, analytical and problem solving capabilities
  • Time management skills and ability to prioritize workloads
  • Excellent communication skills with a strong command of English, Mandarin and Cantonese
  • Familiarity with personality traits assessment tools is an advantage.
