Responsibilities & Requirements:
‧To help develop the graphics department’s infographics for print into equally well-respected digital projects for online
‧Collaborating with a team of artists, editors, reporters and writers to create data-driven infographics for breaking news, and crafting multimedia experiences for investigative pieces and features
‧Degree holder in Journalism, Design, or related discipline a plus
‧Minimum 1 year of experience working in journalism, graphics, or design
‧Minimum 2 years of experience creating multimedia graphics
‧Knowledge of data visualization and UI design
‧An understanding of Javascript, JQuery, CSS, HTML, XML, HTML5
‧Experience with QGis, ArcGIS, Google Maps API and large, government open-data APIs
‧Expertise in standard design tools (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop)
‧Hands-on skills in back-end programming, database configuration to build interfaces and Front-end programming will also be needed to make use of open-source Javascript libraries such as D3
Work location will be at Causeway Bay office.
