Duties
The appointee will be responsible for the work in the areas of major departmental events, promotion and publication, student and alumni affairs, and maintaining the general operation of the Department. He/She will be required to:
(a) manage and execute major departmental events (UGC Visit, DAA Visit, MoU Signing Ceremony) and activities;
(b) provide administrative support to the Department on day-to-day management;
(c) oversee a wide range of operational activities of the General Office (GO) and supervise GO staff;
(d) oversee all activities in respect of promotion, publication and community relations of the Department;
(e) act as the coordinator for the planning and organization of marketing and promotional activities and events such as international symposia, conferences, exhibitions, distinguished lectures, research seminars, ceremonies, Info Day, Consultation Day, Summer Programme, etc.;
(f) maintain and update the departmental website and other social media in promotion of the Department;
(g) manage both local and overseas career and internship opportunities for undergraduates;
(h) coordinate alumni and donation related activities;
(i) provide secretarial support to departmental committees; and
(j) perform any other duties as assigned by the Head of Department or his delegates.
Qualifications
Applicants should:
(a) have a recognised degree or above;
(b) have at least five years of relevant post-qualification work experience, preferably gained in tertiary education institutions;
(c) have an excellent command of both written and spoken English and Chinese, with proficiency in Putonghua;
(d) have excellent computer literacy;
(e) have excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational and negotiation skills;
(f) be a good team player; and
(g) have strong problem-solving and leadership skills as well as the ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently.
Preference will be given to those with relevant experience in the fields of public relations and marketing. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit for a written language proficiency test.
