The Technology Transfer Center (TTC) serves as a bridge between HKUST faculty and the business community. It identifies collaboration opportunities in the local, regional and international markets based on the University’s research strengths; monitors primary and emerging fields of research within the University for earlyrecognition of commercialization potential; manages intellectual properties arising from research works; supports faculty to seek joint development opportunities with commercial partners and transfers technology to the commercial domain. With the support from the Hong Kong Government on Knowledge Transfer Fund and in line with the University’s mission to contribute to the economic and social development of Hong Kong, the Center is inviting competent and dedicated professional to join the knowledge transfer team.
The appointee will assist in technology marketing and technology transfer administration of the Center. Duties include coordinating special events/functions/seminars; assisting in preparation of marketing materials; providing planning and logistics support for marketing activities and technology transfer programs; arranging visits and meetings; providing support to the Center’s office automation plan and maintenance of databases and websites; coordinating preparation of statistical data, and assisting in data analysis for various reporting purposes; assisting in technology transfer administration and operations; and performing any other duties as assigned.
Applicants should have a bachelor’s degree or above with at least 2 years of post-qualification work experience, preferably in the Intellectual Property field with marketing and general administration experience; and with a good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese (fluency in Putonghua is an asset). The ideal candidate should have a can-do attitude and a strong sense of responsibility; be capable of multi-tasking; and be a good team player, able to work independently and meet deadlines. He/She should possess good IT skills, and interpersonal and communication skills. Previous administrative experience in an education institution setting will be an advantage. (Duration: 2 years, renewable)
Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits including annual leave, medical and dental benefits will be provided. A gratuity will be payable upon successful completion of contract.
