The Research Policy and Special Projects team of the Research Office is seeking a capable and experienced individual with strong administrative and communication skills to fill the position of Executive Officer I.
The appointee will support the Head, Research Policy and Special Projects in the formulation of research policies and its implementation; assist in administering new research initiatives; work with University research institutes, centers and labs; provide secretariat support to university-level committees; and support the team’s research outreach and promotion efforts, including the production of the annual ‘Research@HKUST’ publication. The appointee is expected to work closely with faculty and across Schools and Departments for effective discharge of responsibilities.
Applicants should have a bachelor’s degree with at least 7 years of relevant post-qualification work experience. He/She should have an excellent command of English and Chinese (Cantonese and Putonghua); excellent interpersonal skills; attentive to details and ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously and work independently under pressure. Working outside normal office hours and travelling outside Hong Kong is required. Experience in an academic institution is an advantage. Candidates with less but more than 3 years of post-qualification work experience may be considered for appointment as Executive Officer II.(Duration: 2 years, renewable)
Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits including annual leave, medical and dental benefits will be provided. A gratuity will be payable upon successful completion of contract.
