We are looking for suitable candidates to join our Civil Construction Section of Substation Implementation Branch under Engineering Projects Department.  The appointees will report to Engineer I and be responsible for the following duties:  

• Under minimal supervision, manage and oversee consultants and contractors regarding construction of proposed transmission substations, cable tunnel, site formation works, foundation works, slope works and Alteration &Addition Works for existing substations 
• Assist to set achievable programme and budget plans for various projects at planning stage
• Ongoing control construction site safety and quality issues.  Track progress and programme to ensure timely completion of proposed projects including all necessary statutory approvals and consents.  Resolve technical problems to minimize cost and programme impact during construction stage 
• Assist to liaise and coordinate with various government departments and external stakeholders regarding interfacing project issues.  Closely liaise with internal user departments for future handover and maintenance requirements
• Carry out ad-hoc urgent inspections after normal office hours as required

Requirements:

• A recognized University degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering
• At least three years’ proven experience in managing civil or building projects
• Corporate membership of an appropriate professional institute, such as MICE, MIStructE or HKIE (Civil or Structural  Disciplines) is preferable
• Knowledge in multi-disciplinary work will be an advantage
• Mindful on safety control issues
• Customer-oriented, self-motivated, independent and able to work under pressure
• Good communication skills in both spoken and written Chinese and English
