Counselling Assistant(s) (carrying the job title of ‘Student Guidance Officer, SCS’)

Applicants should have (i) a good Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Counselling or Social Work (relevant work experience is required for those with a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work); (ii) undergone training in counselling; (iii) fluency in both written and spoken Chinese (including Putonghua) and English; and (iv) willingness to work flexible hours. Applicants who have completed GCDF training and have relevant post-qualification experience, experience in student affairs and student career development programmes in the tertiary education settings are preferred. Duties include (a) providing individual guidance and counselling services to students; (b) designing and conducting career development and training programmes; (c) assisting in mass programmes and other student development activities; (d) providing consultation for student organisations; (e) planning and organising holistic activities for students; (f) conducting psycho-education workshops; (g) liaising with families and allied professionals on the management of individual cases; and (h) performing other tasks as assigned. Appointment will initially be made on a contract basis for up to 2 years (with contract-end gratuity for a 2-year contract), renewable subject to good performance and mutual agreement. Shortlisted candidates will be required to sit for a written test.
