Responsibilities

• Act as the Case Officer in the review of designated cases by preparing correspondence with auditors/listed entities to obtain information, analyze information obtained and identify issues of auditing irregularity and/or non-compliance with accounting requirements
• Prepare complaint/review assessment reports and investigation/enquiry reports as well as making recommendations for cases with reference to the accounting, auditing and professional standards
• Perform reviews of financial statements selected under the financial statements review programme and prepare handling reports with recommendations
• Serve as complaint handling officer and screen complaints received
  
  

Requirements

This challenging position requires extensive professional knowledge in financial reporting and auditing. The ideal candidate will be a qualified accountant with at least 5 years’ post qualification experience in audit or audit regulation. Solid technical background in an audit firm, with extensive exposure to financial reporting and auditing and assurance standards and listing rules compliance are a prerequisite.

The role carries a high level of responsibility and the candidate must exhibit independence, motivation and a desire to develop a long term career within a regulatory body. The candidate should possess communication skills in both English and Chinese, and be able to communicate with listed entities and professional firms at the mid/senior level and prepare precise and concise reports.
