Assistant Manager (Ref. 16100505-IE)
The Innovation and Technology Development Office (ITDO) oversees (i) the advancement of major research and development initiatives with knowledge transfer potential as well as the management of intellectual property portfolio of the University; and (ii) the creation of new technology development and transfer opportunities through collaborative research/projects with the Government, non-government organizations, industry, and business communities. The ITDO supports the University’s mission to develop and apply technology arising from its research, resulting in the expanded use of University intellectual property in the Government, non-government organizations, industry, and business communities.
The appointee, under the supervision of the Director of Innovation and Technology Development or his delegates, will be required to:
(a) assist in managing collaborative projects, programmes, and activities related to collaboration research and technology development;
(b) actively liaise with the academic and research community, industry, government, non-profit community, and various stakeholders to enable effective implementation of projects and initiatives set forth by the Office;
(c) assist in planning, organizing, coordinating and implementing events, meetings, seminars, workshops, projects, and various marketing activities of the Office; and
(d) perform any other duties as assigned by the Director of Office or his delegates.
The appointee will be required to work beyond normal office hours when necessary.
Applicants should:
(a) have a recognized degree in a relevant area of Communication, Marketing, Journalism, Engineering, Science, and/or a business related discipline;
(b) possess at least five years of professional and relevant experience;
(c) have good understanding on technology transfer, event organization, and/or business development;
(d) demonstrate ability to build partnership;
(e) be highly motivated, result-oriented, and be able to work under pressure;
(f) have a good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese (Cantonese and Putonghua); and
(g) possess strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Preference will be given to those with experience in the public sector and government affairs.
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit for a written language proficiency test.
A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered. Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract. Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement. Applicants should state their current and expected salary in the application.
