Company Overview
The Position Profile
- Assist the business development team to implement Group investment strategy in China;
- Support the business development team to identify and develop prospective opportunities including wind and solar projects;
- Undertake due diligence exercises on prospective sites including geographical, wind and solar resources analysis through software to ensure site viability;
- Perform technical, commercial and financial screening on prospective projects to ensure project viability;
- Assist in delivering and managing the process of the necessary sub-approvals, studies and reviews etc. for submission to relevant PRC authorities;
- Assist in preparation of business case and other documentation for obtaining various internal approvals during the development stage;
- Maintain, develop and run models and database for site terrain and energy yield etc. and conduct energy yield assessment, geographical and site analysis;
- Work closely with design institutes and other consultants to ensure all reports related to sub-approvals for final project approvals are of high quality and technically sound;
- Collaborate with group functions to prepare project costs estimation for new projects;
- Responsible for formulation of project management and implementation plan of new projects in advanced development stage;
- Assist business development team to manage stakeholder engagement and build strong network with external parties for development; and
- Assist business development team to remain abreast of business development activities and up-to-date market information
Requirements
- High degree of integrity and good understanding of business practices in China;
- A recognized university degree, preferably in a relevant engineering discipline;
- 8 – 10 years of working experience (preferably in power industry), with at least 5 years on business development or construction. Prior working experience in large foreign entity or new energy (e.g. wind or solar energy) business will have advantage;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, energetic, assertive and dedicated with high ethical standard;
- Prior experience on use of software and tools for wind/solar resources analysis is preferred;
- Good command of English and Mandarin; and
- Hong Kong-based with frequent travel required
