The Publications Department of AmCham HK is responsible for biz.hk, a 60-page chamber business magazine published 10 times a year, and three annual books: Members Directory, Living in Hong Kong, and the bilingual (English-Chinese) Invest in the USA Service Providers Directory.
We are currently seeking a high-caliber, experienced individual to join our team as a writer/editor for original content creation on a variety of topics relevant to Hong Kong’s business community.
Major responsibilities:
- Write several short- and long-form feature articles per issue
- Research on topics relevant to story assignments
- Interview senior business executives in a wide range of industries
- Edit/copyedit/proofread materials to be published
- Participate in editorial planning and brainstorming
- Attend selected AmCham events/briefings/information sessions
- Monitor current affairs relevant to HK’s business community
- Liaise as needed with freelance writers, designers, and other vendors
Digital Dimensions:
- Incorporate/reformat magazine/book content for online distribution
- Contribute to the development of AmCham’s Website for publications
- Engage in multimedia channels to meet digital communication needs
- Possibly produce video content for chamber events and media interviews
Requirements:
- A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
- A high level of proficiency in English writing and editing
- A track record of producing high quality feature articles (clips will be reviewed)
- Excellent interpersonal skills and interviewing skills
- 3-5 years of solid experience in editorial production
- Excellent organizational and project management skills
- Mature, meticulous, self-motivated, cooperative, and willing to learn
- Experience in digital media and Chinese language skills a plus
- Skills in photography, videography, and graphic design a plus
